Oh How Great And Magnificent I Am!

Funny how a lot of people think so incredibly high and mighty of themselves isn't it?

We certainly are free to think and feel how we want to. By design, we all have free will...and many of us certainly aren't afraid to use it. It's just so funny to see the way people behave with it sometimes. Hilarious even.

Like all these men who walk around thinking that, they alone, are the biggest, baddest man to ever walk the earth. They go to gyms, lift heavy weights, and stare at themselves in the mirror thinking things like, "Yeah I'm one bad dude!" But it's like my grandpa told my dad who, of course, has told me, "You can be as big and bad as you wanna be, but it's the guy who is strong enough to pull a trigger that'll getcha."

And then, of course, you have women obsessed with their weight and appearance, many of them just knowing that if they were to ever ask a mirror on the wall who is the fairest of all...the only thing it could possibly say is, "Why, you of course!"

The list continues with people who think they are soooo smart and know it all. Well, it usually doesn't take all that long before they learn that they didn't know anywhere near as much as they thought they did.

And people with money, power, or fame who parade around marveling at what great "masters of the universe" they are? Well, take all that away from them, and they really aren't so different from us are they?

I have been outside on many a cold night, either walking my dog or working, and I have thought many times about how the weather itself has such enormous power over us.

If it's too hot, we want to get inside where it's cool, and if it's too cold, then we want to get inside where it's warm. Tell me, would you ever stand, unafraid, with a tornado or a tidal wave coming at you? And even if you did...would you still be standing afterward?

To put things in even more perspective, visit a nursing home, hospital...or a graveyard.

It's good for us to feel good about ourselves. Nothing wrong with that at all. It just turns out we are not nearly as powerful, or as in control, as some of us may like to think we are. I'm just saying let's not be delusional about who, or what, we are.

OinK!
