Once again...story time!!!
One day my dad gave a friend a ride to school. He was on his way back when he saw a young girl walking. He noticed that she was carrying some school books and wondered why she was walking away from the school so early. He decided to offer her a ride.
After they got going, he asked her why she was going home early from school. She replied, "I'm quitting." After asking her why, she told him that she was tired of being made fun of by her fellow students and showed him her hands. They were covered with skin grafts as a result of being burned in a fire.
He asked her what grade she was in. She told him that she was in the 11th grade. He said to her, "You know, one day you might really need that diploma, you've made it this far, I wouldn't let them stop me if I were you."
He took her to her house and then went on his way, not knowing what she would do. They didn't even exchange names. But a little over a year later, the girl went on to graduate, and told others about a kind stranger who had given her a ride one day...and how he encouraged her to not to give up.
What kind of person would you rather be? One who would hurt someone already scarred...or one who would try and help them.
OinK!
